By using Grade Index, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
1. Estimates, not official grades
Grade Index calculators give estimates based only on what you enter. They aren't official grades and don't reflect your school's records. Your professor's syllabus, grading policies, curves, rounding, and decisions always come first. Don't rely on Grade Index alone for academic decisions, such as whether to drop a class or skip an exam.
2. Check the syllabus reader's work
The syllabus reader tries to find grade categories, weights, and due dates automatically. Syllabi are written in many formats, so it can miss things or get them wrong. You're responsible for checking every category, weight, and date it fills in. Grade Index isn't responsible for missed deadlines or wrong calculations caused by incorrect or incomplete information.
3. Not affiliated with any school
Grade Index is an independent project. It isn't affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any college, university, or professor. Any school or course names you enter are used only on your own device.
4. Use the site fairly
Don't use Grade Index to break the law or your school's academic integrity rules, and don't try to disrupt, overload, or copy the site's code or design for commercial use.
5. No warranty
Grade Index is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. We may change or remove features at any time.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Grade Index and its creator aren't liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, including grades, academic outcomes, missed deadlines, or lost data. Your use of the site is at your own risk.
7. Your saved data
Your classes and dates are stored in your browser, which can clear them without warning, for example when you clear site data or switch devices. Keep your own copy of anything important.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site means you accept the updated terms.
